Weighting

The closer 500 comes, the further away it seems! I'm still hanging in at 497 pounds. It's not like I'm not eating, I'm eating plenty, so I don't really know why I'm not gaining more. Maybe I just need to find a scale that measures a little heavy...

Ian dropped another 4 pounds this past week, he's down to 442 pounds. He's been very supportive of me, and I've been very supportive of his efforts. We're both very happy with the direction things are going right now, although we both would like a few more pounds on me.

I was in touch with Amy again. She's all moved into her new place, she's got her 'screening room' setup and has been in utter bliss. She's got her big TV set up, couches, a snack bar and everything. She basically goes to work, then comes home to watch movies or hockey and eat. Her weight is holding at about 520 pounds, since she's been busy getting the house in order, but she expects to begin growing again.

Incidentally, to anyone who heard reports of tornadoes in London last night, obviously, we're okay.

Also, I feel like I'm out of fresh ideas to write about, anything on anyone's mind?

Char

I'm not surprised that you're running out of things to write about. You've been on the cusp now for a few weeks, one good pig out short of the promised land, or at least the peak that you've been pointing towards.

I also understand that you will refuse to consider accepting 497 as your highwater mark because it will in some way be an acceptance of a failure to achieve your goal. On the other hand, in mathematical terms you're really within the statistical variation that your measuring appartus will have and the normal human variation in weight. While a 110 pound woman might vary her weight by a pound or two or three throughout the month, a 500 pound woman's equivalent 2-3% variation would be 10-15 pounds.

In other terms, drinking three pints of water or beer or iced tea will add 3 pounds to your weight, not a huge amount to drink(one supersized beverage at a fast food place).

But, all of these are things you know and are probably sick of.

On the other hand, it would be interesting to get more of a sense of what life is like at your current size. I know you've given us some observations, but it would be interesting to get a sense of how you're dealing with work at your current size. When or if you have to make some accommodation to your size(such as pausing to catch your breath, or going a few steps further to an elevator instead of taking the stairs, or not taking a ride with a colleague whose car won't hold your behemothic bod). Whether you're representing your size proudly and how you're showing off your prodigious dimensions apart from with Ian. How is best bud Sherrie dealing with the efforts you're making to reach your goal, since you've enlisted her to bring you down to baby making size once you hit the quarter ton notch.

Finally, perhaps you'd describe your own self evaluation of your body, from a quantitative, but more so qualitative orientation. How does it feel, how does it bend, fold, overhang, move, jiggle. Since you've given up on the thought of going beyond Ian's 600 pounds, perhaps from your closest viewing of what Char would look and feel like at 600, perhaps give us your take on what life would be like at 600 for you, both in terms of the type of eating you'd need to do to reach or maintain that level, how your body would grow and what you'd look and feel like at that plateau.

Enuf to chew on?

A few things i'm curious about:

Just how big is 500 pounds? I know this sounds like something of a stupid question, but for someone who's never knowingly met anyone that big (i live in the UK, where that level of obesity is something of a rarity), it's kinda hard to get your head round. I mean like, does your belly cover your knees when you sit (or even when you stand), and is your ass like 2 foot wide when sitting or more like 5? How far forward do you have to bend to see your toes? (I'm not after a full set of body measurements or anything quite so lecherous, just some kinda handle on how large 500 pounds actually is on a person).

Second thing: What do your parents make of their daughter intentionally getting that fat (I'm assuming they know about the whole weight gain thing here)? Are they supportive, do they take you aside for little 'we're concerned' kind of chats when you go visit.

Another thing: I'm kinda assuming you must get a few stares at that kinda size. Does that make you feel uncomfortable, or give you a little inner smile as you know why they're staring?

Anyways, glad you and Ian both seem to be enjoying the feeding life-style - i'm kinda envious if i'm honest :-) Good luck with the last 3 pounds!
